This is your Season

Have you ever been in the place in your life where you sat back and wondered why is everyone prospering but me? When am I going to have my "Breakout" moment? When is it going to be my time? Do you feel stuck and are unsure as to which direction you should turn? Well, today is the day to stop wondering, and I am going to tell you why.

Okay, I know you are asking, Shelly, how do you know today is the day for a change? Well, it is because I have been there and asked myself the very same questions. It was not until I decided to give up on my will and accept God's will for my life. You see, each one of us is uniquely designed with Purpose! However, we must understand that we have to make a choice. We can either choose the path we have created for ourselves or choose the predestined path God created for us. The remarkable thing about God is that He gives us the freedom of choice. He is so patient, and He sits back and waits for us to decide.

I can recall a time in my life when I had to give up a career where I worked so hard and diligently to be successful. I worked on a multi-million-dollar project where I led a large team, and we worked to build this project from the ground up. Before the project reached the finish line, I had to leave abruptly. It was a circumstance beyond my control that forced me to walk away, and I had no idea as to which direction my life was going to take at that time. I was going through a highly stressful time, and so much was happening around me. I was dealing with serious health issues, and it was a terrifying and uncertain time for me. There were days when I was so sick and unsure if I was ever going to get better. However, I never lost my faith.

Now let us fast forward to a couple of years later! I am in remission! My spirits are lifted, and the joy I experience every day is helping someone else realize that they do not have to be defined by their circumstances. One setback does not mean the race is over. Although I have experienced several setbacks, I believe the setbacks were in place to prepare me for an Awesome blessing! I am walking into the new season of my life with a more incredible determination and confidence in whom God has created me to be!

I have to be honest in say; I experienced anger and sadness initially because I could not understand why I was in a situation where I felt as if I was stripped of everything. My life took on a different path. However, through encouragement and prayer, I realized that I had to embrace my circumstances. and walk in faith. I used the downtime to work on myself and reassess what I wanted to do with my life. It was then where I decided to enroll in a course and began to work on myself. During this time, I learned a lot about myself. I learned how to persevere in adversity. I learned how not to quit so easily and push my way through to the finish line. I also learned that I was being redefined, and it was a painful but necessary process. This was something I had to endure in order to help someone else.

I say all of that to say if you find yourself in a situation where you are trying to figure it all out and look for clarity. Then stop, pray and ask God for guidance. He will not steer you wrong. I believe if you are ready to take that first step of faith, then God will do the rest.

If you are like me, I know it is scary. However, I took a leap of faith, and God has blessed me tremendously!

Today, I challenge you to take a small leap, and I guarantee God will do the rest! This is your season. Your season for greatness! Let's go! It is time to step into the new season of your life!
